Nothing beats a random act of kindness. Whether you’re the one performing the act of kindness, or whether you’re the recipient of an act of kindness—both are equally satisfying. Today, one of my supervisors randomly made my day. His act of kindness came in the form of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and was both satisfyingly kind and satisfyingly delicious.
Now, all people and their moms like Krispy Kreme doughnuts. However, my supervisor lived in North Carolina, and, like all people in the old north state, quickly discovered the many reasons why it is one of the best. Along with Virginia Dare (the first English child born in America) and the University of North Carolina (the first public university built in America), North Carolina is also home to the first Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (sorry for repping so hard–I can’t help it).
So, along with the perks of having three of the best supervisors an ALT could ask for, I also have one who asks me for the score of the UNC-Duke game, reads the headlines on WRAL and leaves Krispy Kreme doughnuts on my desk. How’s that for a taste of home?
